Brothers, Here Today

In the days that followed September 11th, the terrifying realization that our world had changed touched all Americans.  Regardless of who you spoke to, each person was shocked and deeply effected.

However, in the face of this terrible shift in our world, I began to witness something truly amazing.  The cold barrier between strangers, I had so often seen, was somehow dissipating.  There was now unity - a bond between people, that in my life I had never expected to see.  In some way, the world had become warmer as so many Americans embraced the fact that we are indeed all Americans - and we had been forced to remember what that really means.

I know that no one alive on that day will ever forget those sad images of destruction and senseless waste.  But as we recall that darkness, let us also remember a time that we banded together - a time when it was easier to show kindness - a time when a nation of strangers became brothers.

This song is dedicated to keeping the memory alive of a time when we were all a little bit closer.
